Lynchy Construction works with key players in the New South Wales rail industry, providing excavation services and plant hire. We have participated in a range of rail construction and maintenance projects and continue to support this ever-growing industry.
New South Wales’ extensive network of government-built and private railways has been integral to the growth and development of our state since 1831, when Australia’s first railway was built in Newcastle. Now, the 9400km of nominal route standard gauge rail is controlled by three government bodies (Transport Asset Holding Entity, Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink), and several private operators.
In 2017, NSW train lines facilitated over 349 million trips, with rail freight contributing $66 billion to the NSW economy. This number is set to increase with the growing move away from the carbon footprint heavy road freight, and the national focus on job creation from labour hire. Rail jobs normally fall into one of three categories – construction, operation, and maintenance of the train network. We excavate and provide plant hire for all three categories.
Lynchy Construction is highly invested in the rail industry, with a wide range of rail projects already under our belt. Here are a few that we are proud of.
We support the growth of the NSW rail industry with a comprehensive railway excavation service encompassing machine transport, equipment transport, material transport, debris removal, labour hire, plant hire, and the excavation service itself. Our expert machine operators complete railway excavation works including platform works, track works, and general excavation in the rail corridor.
We offer labour hire, plant hire, and excavation services to rail projects across New South Wales from our headquarters in Bathurst. The locations we most frequently serve include:
